Welcome Beings of All Sorts

Welcome beings of all sorts! Somehow, you have found this blog. :D I congratulate you on that whether it was through success or failure! My name is Madeleine Schmuch aka MadDog and I am an amateur cosplayer. I will also be your guide here. This blog came to be because I needed to organize my cosplays and constantly work on them so that I would finish them. I thought that if I had a commitment to post I would work more often and would not forget important things. This blog started off as being called "MadDog's Sewing" but has since then turned into a guide to cosplay and has taken on the new name "MadDog's Wicked Guide to Wicked Cosplay." That being said, I'm terrible with names. This blog should really be called "MadDog's Tips That She's Found to be Useful and is now Sharing on a Blog in Hopes That They Might Help Somebody Else in Their Efforts to Cosplay." That name fits this blog much better however, it was a little bit too long. Moving on, I've added new sections to make this blog more informative but they are almost all ongoing sections. (If you need information on certain things now, please shoot me an email. Email: wickedcosplay@yahoo.com) Whether you just want to follow my projects or learn how to start cosplaying, I'm hoping that this blog will be a help. MadDog out! :)

Seras Victoria Part Two: The Shirt COMPLETE!

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

So Tuesday I completed my Seras Victoria shirt finally! Yay! Also, I made the skirt. Yay. I had to basically do a ton of hand sewing to complete this i. e. attach the collar, buttons, etc. I don't have a picture of just me in what I had complete for Anime Boston (which is basically the entire cosplay minus the socks and the gloves and a potential prop), so here is one of me and my friends waiting for the train to come on Friday.

Rose Lalonde Cosplay Surprise

Well, as you might have guessed, Anime Boston was this weekend. Technically it is still going on as we speak but I decided not to go in to Boston today because I feel like crap. Story time: this whole week I have quite literally gone to school and then come home and worked on cosplay until eleven each night (sometimes with members of the Underwater Hemisphere--which is now going to be an active blog by the way--and sometimes not). I have stories for each day I worked so if I'm feeling up to it, today you will get many posts with a day dedicated to each post. (Hopefully through the actual con as well.) Enjoy.

Monday, March 17, 2014

At this point in time, I was planning on wearing Seras Victoria on Friday, Levi on Saturday, and then Devit on Sunday. I had much to do so naturally, I wasted some of my time by making a cosplay I had not originally planned on making. I made some sleeves and a belt so that I had a complete Rose Lalonde cosplay. Yay! (There is actually a point to this. It was if I was too tired to paint myself grey on Sunday, I would be Rose instead. But then I got sick so neither happened.) Picture time!

My Everyday Cosplays #6

Well, I was just in another production recently so naturally, they was another dork day to advertize. The last time, I casual cosplayed Misty (click here to see) and this time I was going to full out cosplay as Rose Lalonde from Homestuck, but I didn't have enough time to make that happen so I casual cosplayed an incomplete version of her. Here are some pictures and I promise that Seras update is coming. (All I have to do is finish the collar and then it's update away.) MadDog out!

How to Make Patches (When You are in a Fix)

Today I worked more on my Seras Victoria (I figured I should as Anime Boston is in a little more than a week--haha, I'm doomed) and I thought I 'd showed you how to make patches with only a few materials (and no talent for embroidery). It's really quite simple. The first thing you have to do is find a scrap of fabric a little bigger than the patch you would like to make. Then, draw an outline of the patch onto the fabric. After that you want to cut the fabric out but make sure to leave a little extra around the edges and iron that down (on the outline) for a smooth edge. Then all you have to do is paint the design you want on to the other side of the patch and hand stitch it to the whatever garment you want to put it on. More Seras soon. MadDog out!

More Homura Akemi Nails

I don't know why, but I seem to be forever on a quest to find the perfect adaptation of Homura Akemi nail art. Therefor, today I have come up with another interpretation of her nails. They are just purple nails with gems in the shape of a diamond on the middle finger. You can see my first interpretation here. MadDog out!

More DIY Dork Shirts (Edition: Homestuck)

You know how I've painted my own design on shirts before? Well, I've altered some more shirts just like this. (You can check out my previous "DIY Dork Shirts" here.)This time around I've made a bunch of Homestuck shirts. This is pretty great because I can either wear them as part of a normal outfit (and have it automatically be considered casual cosplay) or I can use them in an actual cosplay! The shirts I have here belong to Rose Lalonde, Gamzee Makara, and Sollux Captor. That's what I've been up to recently. I've also been working on my Levi cosplay so you all should have an update on that soon as well. MadDog out!

Jack Skellington Nails

Hello people (and others)! Today I shall being showing you my Jack Skellington nail art. It's really quite simple if you want to try it out yourself. First, you want to paint your nails white. Then take some black nail polish and draw little jack faces on them. It has come to my attention that this part is a lot easier said than done so I offer you another way to accomplish this look: wait until you nails are COMPLETELY dry and then use a sharpie to draw the Jack faces on. If you use this method make sure to add a top coat so that the sharpie doesn't just rub off. That's all for today. Hope you enjoyed. MadDog out!
