Welcome Beings of All Sorts

Welcome beings of all sorts! Somehow, you have found this blog. :D I congratulate you on that whether it was through success or failure! My name is Madeleine Schmuch aka MadDog and I am an amateur cosplayer. I will also be your guide here. This blog came to be because I needed to organize my cosplays and constantly work on them so that I would finish them. I thought that if I had a commitment to post I would work more often and would not forget important things. This blog started off as being called "MadDog's Sewing" but has since then turned into a guide to cosplay and has taken on the new name "MadDog's Wicked Guide to Wicked Cosplay." That being said, I'm terrible with names. This blog should really be called "MadDog's Tips That She's Found to be Useful and is now Sharing on a Blog in Hopes That They Might Help Somebody Else in Their Efforts to Cosplay." That name fits this blog much better however, it was a little bit too long. Moving on, I've added new sections to make this blog more informative but they are almost all ongoing sections. (If you need information on certain things now, please shoot me an email. Email: wickedcosplay@yahoo.com) Whether you just want to follow my projects or learn how to start cosplaying, I'm hoping that this blog will be a help. MadDog out! :)

The Making of Harry Potter

And here is the surprise destination! While i was in London for two(ish) short days, I made a trip to The Making of Harry Potter. Now, I am a huge fan of the books and movies because I've simply grown up with them. When I was little I had them read to me as a bedtime story, as i got older i could read them on my own, and I eagerly awaited the opening night of each film. They made me laugh and cry and when that seventh book came out, I was jumping up and down screaming, "YES YES YES!!!" at the poor man who had to deliver mail to my house that day. When the eighth movie finally premiered I was traumatized for months because it was over. And then when Pottermore was released I was one of those idiots up until all hours of the night trying to get an account for the beta testing. No regrets.

I had the opportunity two years ago to go to Orlando, Florida with my marching band to march down Main Street and while we were there we also got to go to Universal and do all the Harry Potter stuff there. It was super fun walking around with my friends and going on all of the rides but that's just it--it's all rides. The Making of Harry Potter was completely different. For any creative person (whether you be interested in costumes, theater, set design, special effects, creature design, etc.) who loves Harry Potter, this place is heaven. You get to walk through the actual sets and see the the costumes up close and personal. The effects are explained with huge moving displays and you can walk through their creature shop. It's incredible. Words cannot explain it and pictures even just don't do it justice. You walk in and so many things are just crammed into every possible corner. The walls are pasted with concept art and props hang from the ceiling while costumes are set up in the still standing sets. It's simply fantastic. I have a few photos (taken by me, my brother, and my mother) which were very hard to narrow down but here they are. It's a brief taste of what the studio is itself but it's all i have to offer.
